Pantone

Hello, darlings!!
Do you know what Pantone is? It is a company that deals with the color matching system concepts to all industries like fashion, home decor, plastics, architecture or paint. It sets the tone for accurate color communication, from designer to customer or manufacturer, across a variety of industries.
The 2013 color of the year is EMERALD:

Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.

Emerald is brilliant, sophisticated, luxurious and luminous. It's considered regenerative, as it is the color of growth and new. It sparkles and fascinates, it represents healing and unity. Emerald brings a sense of rejuvenation , renewal and clarity, and I think that is needed nowadays. We need to heal and to reinvent ourselves, maybe 2013 will be a new begining fo all of us. This universaly appealing tone translates easily to fashion and home decor interiors.

I love love this color!! I like it so much because it represents spring, and I was born in spring. It seems healthy, I love nature and I absolutely crave for pops of color in my life! And  my eyes are green!! :) This color makes me happy!! And emerald green is such a deep color, it adds dimension and creates a happy decor!! Here are some images that caught my eye:

House Beautiful- clean black and beige decor with beautiful pops of green

via Marcus Design- luxurious combo python and emerald, jungle feel...

Tony Duquette malachite window treatments-malachite- a secret love of mine..

Tony Duquette- excuse my drooling....

Paperblog-Black, white and green? Plus zebra? Yes, please!!

Paperblog- I'd be so happy here...

Sojournerstorybook-great look- only two green accent armchairs make a lush decor

The two armchairs I plan to "steal" from my mom's have a luch rich dark green velvet upholstery and they are soo soft. I was planning to reupholster them, but I could easily go for a black and white living room with emerald green accents in the chairs and drapery. I'd love curtains made of a rich malachite fabric.

So, do you like emerald green? Would you incorporate it in your home? Do share!!

  1. Emerald green is my favourite color ever. Green in general, but this shade of green particularly. And I absolutely and always have adored your mother's emerald-green-royal green curtains.

  3. @anatati: yes, I also love green. And pink, and turquoise, and teal, and lime, all kinds of colors!! I like pops of color, and green is so cool. And my mom's velvety choices for the dining room are timeless, right? Emerald- the color of 2013 is lighter, while royal green is more saturated. I like them both. And I absolutely love this malachite trend!!

  5. I know your mother's is more saturated. And I like emerald better. But still, it's like I grew up with that green... It's something that will forever remain in my mind.
